Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program is uniquely designed for information technology professionals who want to improve and broaden their technical skills, while learning the application of business principles. This combined skill-set is what defines MSIT graduates — the ability to bridge the gap between fundamental technologies and business strategies — and adds value to business.
The classes in the MSIT program, with its 70% technical and 30% business and management curriculum, are taught by tenured Northwestern professors from a number of disciplines and departments, as well as IT industry leaders. Both the part-time and full-time MSIT options give IT professionals a cross-functional perspective of information technology and its place in business operations, ultimately helping them implement better IT solutions that reflect the demands of today's evolving marketplace.
The Northwestern MSIT program requires two years of professional experience in IT for those applicants with undergraduate degrees in EE or CS, or four years of professional experience in IT for those applicants with undergraduate degrees in other non-technical fields.
