The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Northwestern University invites applications for an assistant professor tenure-track faculty position to start fall 2012. Specific areas of interest include Interactive Computer Graphics, Cyber-Physical Systems, Robotics, Computer Vision and Audition and Human-Assisted Computation. However truly exceptional candidates in all areas of EECS will also be given serious consideration.

A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required, as is demonstrated success within the respective research area. Successful candidates will be expected to carry out world class research, collaborate with other faculty, and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Compensation and start-up packages are negotiable and will be competitive.

Northwestern EECS consists of over 50 faculty members of national prominence whose interests span a wide range. Northwestern University is located in Evanston, Illinois on the shores of Lake Michigan just north of Chicago.

The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department and the Segal Design Institute of Northwestern University invite applications for a tenure-track assistant professor faculty position with a start date in Fall 2012. This search particularly targets candidates focusing on design in human-computer interaction, affective computing, hardware/software artifacts for social sciences and health, augmented reality, and wearable computing; however, exceptional candidates in other related areas will also be given serious consideration.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. and they are expected to possess outstanding research records. Successful candidates will carry out world-class research and teach both at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Northwestern EECS consists of over 50 faculty members of national prominence whose interests span a wide range. The Segal Design Institute is a newly formed unit within the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences that links all of the design activities at Northwestern as well as provides strong connections with a rich design community in the Chicago area: academic and commercial. Northwestern University is located in Evanston, Illinois on the shores of Lake Michigan just north of Chicago.

To ensure full consideration, applications should be received by January 1, 2012. Applicants will submit curriculum vitae, statement of research, description of teaching interests, plus names and contact information for references. A minimum of three recommendation letters are required, however, up to six can be solicited. A cover letter and up to three representative papers are optional.
