Julie FlowersJulie Flowers, program assistant in the CE and CAA Divisions, is leaving the department for a position with the government. Julie's last day is March 27th. Best of luck, Julie.

Student News:
Xiang Huang of Jack Tumblin's lab in the GIM Division has been offered a 3-month internship at Adobe, beginning June 1, on the topic of Image Relighting.

Matt Klenk of QRG and CogSys Division, successfully defended his dissertation today.

Manuela Veloso, Carnegie Mellon UniversityVeloso's teams of robots watch and learn from each other
Manuela Veloso makes robots work together in teams, effectively communicating, assessing and learning in dynamic environments. Prof. Veloso is the Herbert A. Simon Professor in the computer science department at Carnegie Mellon University. Her talk, "Multi-Robot Teamwork Selection and Learning" will be presented as the next lecture in the Meet the Faculty Series, Wednesday, March 18th at 4:00 p.m. in the Ford ITW Auditorium. Kumar on six-city lecture tour
Prem Kumar traveled to Albuquerque, New Mexico, on 4th March 2009 to deliver an IEEE Photonics Society (formerly the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society of the IEEE) sponsored Distinguished Lecture at the Center for High Technology Materials at the University of New Mexico on the topic of “Fiber-Optic Quantum Communications and Information Processing.” This was third of the six lectures he will deliver this year to the various IEEE Photonics Society Chapters around the world on this timely topic.
