Kristian Hammond on WTTW, September 2, 2010A Northwestern University researcher says his more than $700,000 federally funded project that could produce humorous content is really no laughing matter.

But the research has been mocked as a 'joke machine' and has garnered the ridicule of conservative bloggers such as Senator John McCain, and in fact, he recently released a list of 100 wasteful stimulus projects and this project ranked 36 on the list. So what exactly is the NU project about? Here to discuss this and more is the co-director of the Intelligent Information Laboratory at Northwestern University, and frequent Chicago Tonight guest,  Professor Kristian Hammond.

Professor Kristian Hammond talks about his project "Computational creativity: Building a model of machine-generated humor" on WTTW Chicago Tonight (September 2, 2010).
