WOMEN IN COMPUTING

We are driven to build a professional network & community for women in technology.

WiC is the go-to place for women in computer science and related disciplines at Northwestern. We want to make sure that our members know that they belong in tech, and it's been a delight to see them thrive post-graduation.

Past Events

GRACE HOPPER

Since the inception of WiC, we've been sending accomplished young women to Grace Hopper. In 2016, we'll send a record high of 50 women, an accomplishment of which we are quite proud.

HACK NIGHTS

WiC's hack nights are an informal gatherings to work on projects, learn about different technologies or just to work on homework. We generally have 50-100 attendees.

TECH TALKS

We like to hear cool people talk. Here, Ben Slivka (ex-Microsoft) gave a talk about drones and the future of medicine. Recently, we've hosted speakers from Apple and Carnegie Mellon University.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

In early 2015, we ran our first-ever mentorship program for women in tech. We matched 40 mentors and mentees, and created a stronger-knit community of diverse techies.
