About Me

I am Ramanathan Narayanan, a Ph.D student in the EECS department of Northwestern University. Prof. Alok Choudhary is my advisor. I was brought up in Hyderabad, the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh, a city renowned for its cultural diversity and heritage. After spending the formative years of my life there, I left to pursue my undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. It turned out that I had a passion for Computer Science, and I graduated with a B.Tech(honors) in Computer Science and Engineering in 2005. It was also the place where I discovered myself and met some of the best friends of my life. I then came over to Evanston, a nice suburb of Chicago, to start off my doctoral studies at Northwestern University. Life has been hectic ever since, but I still remember the good old days at Kharagpur, my friends, my wing, the inter-hall cricket matches, the long walks along Scholar's avenue and the ear-shattering tempo shouts of RK Hall. More recently, I have become fascinated with Data mining and Computer Architecture. You can read more about my research here.
