![]() Executive Distraction 1.0 is the first-generation prototype of a desktop entertainment system for busy executives. The system consists of a base unit (incorporating the controller), a track, and a small ball. Executive Distraction 1.0 can keep the ball rolling on the track for hours at a time without user intervention, or allow the user to manually control the incline of the track for an exciting desktop entertainment experience. Automatic mode is perfect to pique the interest of visitors and generate water-cooler conversation, while manual mode is perfect for occasions when a stressed-out executive is on the phone and has been forced to hold for 15 minutes. The Executive Distraction concept was developed by Cliff Simms, and implemented by Menace to Society as a project in the Winter 2000 offering of ME 395 at Northwestern University. |
